A factory limiter is a diplomat: approaching the redline it tapers torque away — softening ignition, trimming fuel — so the engine just goes mushy and quiet at the top. Safe, refined, and on a track car genuinely annoying: that fade costs crisp pace at the limiter and gives the driver nothing to hear or feel. A hardcut replaces the taper with a clean fuel cut at the set rpm: full power right up to the wall, then the unmistakable mechanical stutter — bang-bang-bang — until you shift. It's how competition engines have done it for decades, because at racing pace a limiter you can hear is information.
The launch limiter applies the same thinking to standing starts. Off the line, a secondary rev cap holds the engine at a calibrated speed — typically around 3,000–3,500 rpm on a turbo car — letting boost build against the cut so you leave with the turbo already working instead of waiting for it. Every launch identical, every pass repeatable: that consistency is the entire point, whether the venue is a drag strip, a hillclimb start line or a private test day.

The honest caveats ride along too — a hardcut is mechanically harsher than a fade by design, it's loud in a way regulations notice, and it belongs on the declared track and off-road builds we supply it for.
