A loaded van is a different machine to the empty one the factory calibrated. We tune for the van you actually run.

Factory van calibrations are written for a vehicle that barely exists: unladen, driven gently, on a emissions test cycle. Your vans live loaded to the axles, driven by people on a schedule, up the same hills every day. That mismatch is where the money leaks — drivers flogging engines that won't pull low down, fuel burned in downshifts a better torque curve would have avoided, and delivery schedules carrying the cost.

Fleet calibration fixes the mismatch. Low-rev torque filled in hard — up to 25% more where loaded vans need it — so pulls that demanded third gear take fifth. Throttle response smoothed so different driving styles converge toward the efficient one. Injection refined at the cruise sites where your vans spend their motorway hours. Emissions systems left completely intact, because compliance isn't optional for a business. The result per vehicle: typically 6–12% off the fuel bill and a van drivers genuinely prefer.

The commercial wrapper matters as much as the calibration. We start with a pilot vehicle so you can verify savings on your own telematics before committing the fleet. Stop-start fleet duty is the classic DPF killer. A cleaner-burning, torquier calibration driven at lower revs produces less soot per mile and regenerates more reliably — everything stays fitted and compliant, it just suffers less. Vans already blocked need assessment first.

What Operators Ask

Volume-based: the per-van rate steps down as fleet size steps up, quoted as a single clear figure once we know vehicle count, models and where they're based. The pilot van is charged at standard rate and credited into the fleet price when you proceed. No retainers, no per-mile royalties — one price per van, documented.

We come to your yard and work around the rota — evenings after the last drop, weekend blocks, or rolling visits that take vans one at a time as they're free. Each van needs roughly an hour. A ten-van fleet is typically completed across two or three visits without a single missed delivery slot.

Please do — it makes the conversation easier. The pilot van runs for a few weeks while your telematics or fuel-card data does the measuring on your real routes with your real drivers. You compare before and after on your own numbers, then decide. Fleets that measure properly are our favourite customers, because the data does our selling.

Leased vehicles need the funder's written permission — some allow calibration changes, many don't, and we won't tune around that. Warranty exposure is the same as any remap: dealers can detect software changes, so weigh it per van's age. Every vehicle's original file is archived and full reversion before lease return or warranty work is a routine visit.

Normal, and fine. Each van is calibrated individually for its exact engine and variant — a Transit Custom file, a Sprinter file and a Crafter file are three different pieces of work, not one template. What standardises across the fleet is the outcome: consistent driveability, consistent limiter policy if you want one, and consistent documentation per vehicle.

Emissions systems stay fully intact, so MOT and roadside compliance are unaffected. Insurance: calibration changes should be declared on the fleet policy — the per-van documentation we provide makes that an administrative note rather than a project. Speed-limiter settings are kept inside your policy terms, and nothing we do touches tachograph or O-licence obligations.
